The Secret to Full Lashes

Luscious, full lashes are a sign of both youth and beauty. Some people are blessed with a full set of eyelashes, while others are not so lucky. Fortunately, there are easy and effective solutions for those who may not have been born with long, luxurious lashes.

You may have seen numerous lash serums on the market that claim to give you a full and thick set of eyelashes, but not all lash serums are created equal. There are key ingredients to look for that will actually provide you with the results you are looking for. One essential ingredient to look for is peptides.

What are Peptides?

Peptides are strings of amino acids that, when applied topically, act as signals for your cells to divide and produce proteins. They can be found in a number of different health and beauty products including hair, skin, and of course, eyelash products.

Not every peptide will be effective for every tissue. For example, the peptides that are useful for hair growth are not going to be the ideal peptides to use in skincare products. There are specific peptides that are used in lash products that signal your hair follicles to create and strengthen new hair growth as well as support the eyelid tissues. Let’s explore the most effective peptide for lash growth.

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 is a peptide that stimulates the specific proteins called dermal papilla extracellular matrix proteins in our skin’s dermis. The dermis is our deep layer of skin where hair follicles are produced, collagen is created, and other skin proteins are made. When activated, the dermal papilla extracellular matrix proteins cause hair to grow. In fact, a randomized, placebo-controlled study in 2020 found that topical application of a serum containing Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, ginseng, and biochanin A (Trifolium Pratense Flower) was as effective for hair regrowth as the well-known hair growth medication serum, 3% minoxidil, also known as Rogaine. Rogaine is a well-known hair-regrowth product typically used by men with thinning hair. Although it is effective, Rogaine is known to cause skin irritation, which is a reason why many people that use the product end up stopping. Unlike Rogaine, acetyl tetrapeptide-3 does not cause skin irritation or other undesirable side effects, which makes it an ideal option for lash growth serums.

Tripeptide-1

Tripeptide-1 is a peptide that is made of the three amino acids glycine, histidine, and lysine. This peptide binds to copper and activates copper-meditated enzymes in the skin’s dermal layer. By doing so, tripeptide-1 activates tissue repair, decreases inflammation, and turns on the production of collagen and other cellular proteins. This peptide is commonly found in both skin and hair/eyelash products since it supports so many anti-aging processes in the skin. Reducing inflammation, supporting deep skin proteins and structures as well as enhancing cellular health are key for the maintenance of healthy, long, and full eyelashes.

Our Big Full Lash Serum contains the peptides acetyl tetrapeptide-3 and tripeptide-1 along with other key ingredients for strengthening lashes, promoting thicker growth, and hydrating and softening the skin and lashes. It is a customer favorite for how well it works as well as how amazing it feels on the skin and eyelashes. Our serum’s active ingredients also include herbs that modulate hormonal imbalances which can lead to eyelash loss, as well as ingredients that lock in moisture, hydration, and protein which are needed to maintain healthy lashes. But, don’t just take our word for it - try it yourself and you will not be disappointed!
